Making our first trip to Greece and was wondering if you can pay for your taxi in Athens with a credit card like in NYC or Chicago. Also I understand you can use Uber to summon a taxi. Is it the same app we use here in the US or do I need to download a new app? Thanks, Pat

Taxi drivers are legally required to accept credit cards.
As is the case everywhere in the world, some may say that their credit card machine isn't working.
I think the Uber app must certainly work in Athens. I confess that I have no need to use Uber, whether in Greece or anywhere else in the world. If you use Uber you'll get a regular taxi. Drivers without a taxi license are prohibited in Greece.
