Hi
I will be departing Piraeus at 9pm on an overnite ferry to Chania. I understand passengers need to check-in one hour before. I'd like to arrive a little bit earlier. Is there someplace to hang out or something to do in Piraeus?

I assume you will take an Anek Lines ferry, either the Kissamos or the Elyros. If this is the case you will have to go to Gate E2 of the port.

Gate E2 is in an area of the port where there is not much to do. To find bars, restaurants, bakeries, and shops (there are plenty of them and many are open well after 9 p.m.) you should go towards Gates E6/E7 (near the metro station). You will be spoiled for choice.

Be careful, the port is huge, it will take you around 15 minutes to walk from this busy area to the Gate E2. There is also a shuttle bus (free) which runs along the quays, passing through the ferries port gates.
