Day trips from Naxos to nearby islands. Which Islands best?

Three of us seniors will be in Naxos for 7 nights in May 2025 and as part of our stay there, would like to take day trips to nearby islands that are interesting (villages, cuisine, views, crafts, culture). Which two or three islands would you suggest for day trips from Naxos port? And, should we book the tour or ferry before we are actually there in Naxos? Thank you.

In my opinion, there are enough restaurants, villages, beaches, and places to visit on Naxos to keep you busy for 6, or even 10 days without going to another island.

Also, be aware that ferry schedules aren't primarily designed for day trips but for transporting islanders and goods. (which rarely take excursions to neighboring islands)

So any day trip to another island may be difficult to plan on your own, and you won't be able to go much further than the port of that other island without risking missing your ferry back to Naxos (if there is one!).

However, what you can do is contact local travel agencies who can offer you organized boat excursions (private or in small groups).

Totally agree with J0Lui you will not see all of Naxos in a week. Just stay there. If you must take in another island I would recommend you take a day trip with one of the tour boats. You can get the schedules from any travel agent in Naxos. A particularly interesting one is the trip to Delos and then on to Mykonos.
