We have a driver and a day to get from Athens airport to Patra before starting a cruise, then a day back to Athens. Any suggestions of interesting stops? Delfi seems a top site, but sometimes a great lunch in a small town can be more memorable

I’d never put anyone off Delphi, which is great.
But if you want another option you might consider stopping at Kalavryta and taking the spectacular railway to Diakofto.

If you go this route you could stop at the Roman site at Corinth, drive up to Acrocorinth which has brilliant views and still be in Diakofto for lunch. I’d recommend the Ouranoessa on the seafront

You could then do the afternoon round trip to Diakofto and still be in Patras by around seven.
