Day Trip to Mykonos

Hi all,
I'm thinking about taking a ferry to Mykonos from Paros early in the morning, and spending the day at Paradise beach. Is this doable? I was told I would need to take multiple buses or a taxi to Paradise. If a taxi is faster/easier, I'd prefer it. Are there lots of taxis around the new port and are they expensive? Is there one taxi company that I can look up and get a round trip price estimate? Thank you!

Paros has nice beaches. A long trip to Mykonos seems like a big waste of time if just to go to a beach filled with hotels.

I would first look into ferry schedules and verify that you can get there reasonably early, and then get a ferry back reasonably late to make time at the beach worthwhile. There are no scheduled ferries that I am aware of that just shuttle back and forth between the two islands, you would be relying on a scheduled ferry heading one way, usually on a route that hits several islands a day, and then another scheduled ferry doing the same the opposite way.

There may be smaller boats that would take you to Mykonos, but that would be more of a private arrangement or something that is organized as an excursion through a travel agency on the island, there may very well be one offered for Delos (just off Mykonos) that includes time on Mykonos.

As for once there, you can take a taxi directly to Paradise Beach, or walk up to the bus station and take a bus there, they drop off at the beach. Probably what you may have heard is people taking a taxi from the port to the bus station, then a bus, but I would think once you are in the cab, might as well go all the way. Not sure of cost, Google might know.

Hi Paul. I checked the Ferry Hopper website and they're showing a direct ferry on SuperExpress that arrives in Mykonos at 1030AM and departs at 730PM. I hope I read that schedule correctly. Would this give us enough time to check out Mykonos Town and relax on the beach for a couple hours, have an early dinner there, and ferry back to Paros?

If you have the ferries worked out, then yeah, that is plenty of time. You might consider a walk around Mykonos town, then Lunch, and then head to the beach, getting back to Mykonos town about 6:30. My thought is that places would be better at lunch than a dinner at 5:00 or so, though bar/restaurants around the old harbor serve all day.

As for Paradise beach, you do not mention the time of year, but the vibe is Beach Party, two clubs competing for business, Music, a bit of hedonism, mixed crowd, young to old, Nude to Topless to fully clothed. The beach itself is nice, not sand, but BB size pebbles, water nice. You can get loungers and umbrellas, chairside service, we really enjoyed it.

We’re going in early September, and we’re two singles who think we’re younger than we are. We like to people watch, so Paradise and/or Super Paradise might be fun for us. We’ll definitely include a stroll around Mykonos town. Thanks for your help!

Definitely the place to people watch, September Will be nice, good crowd still but not overwhelming. From Paradise you can get a small boat shuttle to Super Paradise, as well, so easy to do both.
