Day excursion in Corfu

There is a bus service from the cruise terminal that takes you into the town. It’s quite a distance as it’s the furthest wharf from the town and it’s long, so if you happen to be at the wrong end end of the pier…….! Years ago I did a nice cruise excursion that went around the northern part of the Island…. Google tourist information Corfu for suggestions. Depends on your interests and what you want to see.

years ago we did a greek island cruise out of venice and stopped at corfu. we hired corfutaxiprivatetours.gr with dimitris the owner
emailed him what we wanted and only 3-5 hours with time to get us back to ship on time. be very adament with ship arrival and departure, he will have the paper wotk with ships arriving. book early, don't know how many ship and people in port. if there is 3-4 ships, that could be 15,000 people.

tracks all ships, dates, times in ports that day, helps you plan your days with transportation. do your research with other italian ports that are further away like (livorno: 2-3 hours train ride to florence, civitavecchia: 1+ hours to rome and how far to walk to train station from port, ravenna, trieste, chioggia: different ports for venice with bus or trains taking 1+ hours). many cruisers get confused, when ships say main place they want to see then find out it's not exactly what they thought, i don't like it.
we were on cruisecritic.com and posted on our ship's forum if anyone interested? found a couple willing to share cost and booked it.
the 4 of us had a great tour seeing many attractions on the island that he recommended with photo stops along the way, stopping at a kumquat liquer/distillery shop to taste, bought a bottle to bring home.
so much history and great views, we were all happy with our tour, dropped us off in town near ship to have an appetizer and drink before boarding. hope this gives you a sample what you can do and if someone willing to share tour
