Current Travel to ATH with Connection in IST

Question regarding a flight I'm considering booking from LAX - IST - ATH.

Will the stopover in Turkey pose any issue/require any additional measures beyond proof of vaccination? Turkey is not listed as a country from which one can enter "without the requirement for self-isolation," so I just want to ensure transiting through Istanbul will not subject us to quarantine upon arrival in Athens. The protocol for arrivals website for Greece states that for non-direct flights one should "abide by the stop-over country requirements," and it's unclear to me whether that means (1) an arrival from a connection in the stop-over country will be treated as an arrival from the stop-over country; or (2) one should just ensure they comply with arrival requirements in the connecting/stop-over country.

Thanks in advance for any feedback/insight.

I agree, ask the consulate if you are unsure.

But if it was me I would book with a transfer in the EU/EEA or US to be on the safe side. If I couldn't find a direct flight.

Calvin M, did you ever get an answer to your question about travel to Greece via Istanbul? I contacted a consulate near me and did not get a straight answer. The person with whom I spoke also did not seem up-to-date on some recent changes in European airports as to transit passengers.

Thanks!
