Current requirements for COVID documentation to enter Greece?

Just triple checking the latest requirements for PCR tests, proof of vax, etc. and time frames thereof, for flights to Greece originating in the US, if there are any very recent experiences on here?

When I traveled to Europe last year, there was a very strict timing requirement which entailed panicked PCR testing ensuring that we had results within a certain time frame of landing (including stopovers, which we have a 5 hour in Europe en route).

Thank you!

The US still requires a negative Covid antigen test to enter the US. It has to be taken the day before you depart for the US.

I contacted our hotel in Athens to ask where we can get tested. Pharmacies will test but some of them only have certain hours when they test. For example, we have to get tested on a Saturday. There is a pharmacy near our hotel that tests until 2PM on Saturdays. When we arrive in Athens, our hotel will make the appointment for us.

Technically, not true. It has to be taken no more than one day before departure. You could take it the day of departure is you like to live risky.

Frank II, you are correct about that! I don't like to live risky, so our plan is to get tested the day before we leave Athens for home. So that was on my brain.

And because the rule is no more than one day before departure this gives you more leeway than if the rule is no more than 24 hours before departure. So you can get your test any time of day on the day before departure.
