Cruise ship daily depart and return times.

This September we are visiting Mykonos, Santorini and Crete on our own . In order to plan our activities, what times do most cruise ships drop off and pick up passengers from these ports? What would be the optimal time to make diner reservations as well.

Your cruise line should have a published itinerary available online. Count on getting off the ship 1 hour after arrival time and you'll have to be back on board 1 hour before departure. Our ship at Mykonos arrived at 7am and left at 5. In Santorini I believe it was about 1pm-10pm.

Your second question depends on cruise line and departure schedules. Some cruiselines have 2 scheduled settings and you'll have to choose either/or. Some have a reservation system that you'll want to prebook. NCL for example allows you to make reservations 3 months prior to departure. We liked to go to the show every evening around 7 so we typically booked an early reservation like 5:00 for dinner.

Are you on a cruise ship? Or in a port hoping to avoid the crowds? It sounds like you are not on a ship. Greeks eat late, 9 or 10, so you shouldn’t be bothered by cruise passengers.

You are correct, we are not traveling on a ship. I should have been clearer on my questions. We are staying at local hotels and want to avoid the crowds as much as possible.

Sorry I misinterpreted your question. If you google cruise port tracker a number of websites pop up giving schedules. You'll find that ships at Santorini will be staggered throughout the day, Mykonos seems to be more of an 8 till 5 type of schedule.
