You might be interested in taking an excursion to Balos and Gramvossa. You get a shipwreck two great beaches and a boat ride. You can do this by local KTEL bus to Kissamos or take an excursion. Any travel agent in Chania can book it for you.

Last year we discovered a new tour company called Wanderlust tours. It has a max of 12 people in a small bus. The guides were excellent and the driver spent years teaching the KTEL local bus drivers how to drive a bus. They have an excursion to different parts of the island daily. We did three with them during our stay.
