Crete

We would like to visit Knossos palace and the archaelogical musem in Heraklion, but otherwise think that Chania will be a better destination for us in Crete. We want to be somewhere we can walk, visit different taverns, maybe see some dancing or learn some dancing. We accept that it will be impossible to see all of Crete even in two weeks, especially since we would rather not rent a car. Can you recommend places to stay where we can walk alot, enjoy the water and get some feel for "real" life? We are not really wanting a full-services resort unless that is the best way to go. Oh, and I would like to be somewhere that I can see other islands from there, if such a thing is possible.

When is this trip planned? How are you getting to Crete? If by air are you flying to Heraklion or Chania or are you arriving by Ferry? Are you going to rent a car or will you travel by bus? Are you planning any time in Athens? When are you planning to be in Greece?

You need to give us information so we can give you sound advice.

Unfortunately, looking at her posting history, it seems that marypkitch never answer to requests for details and never thanks the forum members who give her the requested information.
