Corfu worth visiting?

We’re traveling to Greece in January and are thinking about visiting Corfu. Is it worth a visit?

I like Corfu a lot but whether or not it's "worth it" depends on what you are looking for. It has nice beaches and a very charming old town but not sure if you're looking for more like ancient sites etc? Also I think in January a lot may be closed for the season- and it will definitely be too cold to sit on the beach/swim.

Corfu is wetter and cooler at night in January than the Aegean islands.

I mean no disrespect, but whether or not something is worth it is a deeply personal question. No one can answer that for you IMO

Corfu is not worth visiting in my opinion and certainly not in January however there will no doubt be people who disagree with me albeit not on the January aspect so your best bet is to do some research and decide if it's for you rather than base your decision on the views of random strangers.

During the first week of November 2023, my husband and I were on a cruise that stopped in Corfu for the day. We walked through the city centre, but I can't remember anything of note. We visited the Old Fortress, which was just okay. The only highlight was Faliraki Beach. It was a warm day, and the water was nice. Based on my experience, I wouldn't seek out Corfu again. However, our time was limited, so we weren't able to fully explore.

I’ve visited Corfu twice and liked it.
The lively more ‘party’ resorts are towards the south of the island. I stayed in the north which is much more peaceful with some lovely secluded beaches. Being so far north it is also greener than many Greek islands.
Corfu Town is pretty and walkable with an interesting history.

All that said, im not sure it would be my first choice in January, my guess is it would be colder and wetter than elsewhere.
