Corfu, Greece

Will be in Corfu, Greece for 9 hours while on a cruise. What is the must see or must do while

there? Where would be the best place to purchase, if a tour.

Thanks,

Cindy

Hi Cindy,

I was in Corfu for two weeks on honeymoon and had such a wonderful experience. We did two tours from Viator. The first one brought us around the island and we saw beautiful beaches such as Palaiokastritsa, Mouse Island and more. We also did a boat tour from the old town that brought us to Pakos and Anti Paxos. Both were beautiful.

However, since you will only be there for a half day I would recommend exploring Corfu's old town. They were conquered by the Venetians for 500 yrs and have a lot of Italian influences in the architecture. Check out the Church of St. Syrondron* the patron saint of the island as well as the medieval fortress. Have seafood for lunch. I had some of the best prawns of my life in the old town. The sea water is so salty they dont need to season the food. I think Viator will work for getting around though you could do it on foot. The old town is very compact. I'm assuming the cruise ship will dock there anyway. Please DM me with any questions. You're making me want to go back! :)

Heidi's advice is spot on. With your time frame, enjoy the town and relax, shop, dine, and sight see without feeling rushed. You will enjoy it.

Same here. We did a day on a cruise this fall. It is a lovely place. We wandered all over, saw sights, shopped, ate, and did it some more. A very pleasant day. Safe travels.
