Corfu from Albania

I have 4 days to spend on a Greek island after a wedding in Albania. Corfu was recommended to us due to close proximity. Has anyone been there that can recommend best area to stay. We want some relaxing beach time and also enjoy going to local restaurants, beach side cafe's. Or would another island be better for this? It looks like the flights from Tirana, Albania go through Athens with only a 50 minute change time. Would that be enough to catch connecting flight? Would greatly appreciate input. Thanks

Flying via Athens is a bit of detour, there are ferries that take you from southern Albania to Corfu in 30 minutes.

But if you are looking for local restaurants, why not stay in Albania? Greece is overrun by tourists compared to Albania that is still very much "undiscovered".

I am looking at something similar, although I plan to be in Albania a while (and not just Tirana). Here’s the link for a ferry service from Sarandë to Corfu. https://www.finikas-lines.com/lines. But what I would choose might depend on where you plan to fly home from.

You don't state what time of year you're going but have you thought about travelling north to Montenegro or Croatia? Both have excellent coastal areas, cheaper than Greece and no less interesting. Plus travel may be easier.

Badger-We would totally be interested in spending more time in Albania. We are in Tirana for one week for my son's wedding. They will be honeymooning in Sarande, so I don't want to go there. We obviously don't want to be part of their honeymoon. LOL. Are you familiar with other beach locations in Albania?

Travelmom-We will fly home from where ever we end up going. I am waiting to book flights until my plans are figured out. It seems like option for getting from Tirana to south beaches are either rent car or take a long bus ride.

Portsmouth-We were in Croatia in 2019, but only in Dubrovnik. Maybe another area there or Montenegro might be a decent option. I am really not familiar with what Montenegro has to offer at all.

Thank you for feedback:)

I just did this last summer or something similar, though my was a road trip. This was a long trip that included prior stops in Lithuania, Estonia, Warsaw and Kosovo. We took a bus from Prizren in Kosovo to Tirana, where we spent a few days. Then rented a car from Sixt and drove down with overnight stops in Berat, Gjirokaster, before ending in Ksamil for some beach time. On the drive, we also stopped by Appolonia, and to see the Blue Eye. From Ksamil, we also went to see the ruins at Butrint.
When leaving, we drove to Sarande and dropped off the car at the port, then hopped on the ferry for the 30 mins to Corfu. I also rented a car in Corfu, and drove into the mountains and then to the N before swinging to the west. Driving was easy with not much traffic on the road. I really enjoyed Corfu, though the city was packed with tourists in the summer.

You can take.the hydrofoil from Albania and go to Corfu. There are so many beautiful places to visit according your needs (If you want to explore the island or just relax)you can also visit Paxos island that is an hour away from Corfu.
