We are staying in Corfu for 4 days in early July and having trouble booking a place at a reasonable price, preferably near the NE coast. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, clean place to stay? We would also appreciate recommendations on where to rent a boat (for 2 to 12 people) and places you suggest we "must see" while there. We will have a car.

There seem to be very few people on this forum who have much experience with Corfu, or indeed most of the Ionian Islands. From the various travel forums I know about, Trip Advisor seems to have the biggest component of Corfu fans, and I think they'd have the most detailed information to offer you. Give it a try!

I will be in Corfu for 5 nights soon (yes, I may be crazy - I will know before long). But Corfu was confusing and I am not at all confident I made sense out of it - even after months of reading the TA forum, etc. I finally booked Hotel Apollon in Paleokastritsa - but that is not the area you were looking for. I am hoping to find boat trips from near my hotel. :) We’ll see. You are also likely to have better weather than me.
We were in Corfu last September and stayed at New York Luxury Suites, which is located at the edge of the Old Town. terrific location, very clean 1 bedroom suite. Not sure if this is the location you are interested in. The hotel arranged for transfers to and from the airport. Overall, we had an enjoyable 4 days
