My husband and I are staying in Rethymno. We plan on taking the bus to Chania and spending the entire day walking around,
sightseeing, having lunch etc. We need a really good map of the city. Is there an app I can download on my iphone that works offline? If not, does anyone know if there is a tourist information center near the bus station where we could get an old fashion paper map? Thanks
City maps to go. Works great. You have to download maps you need while in wifi zone.
I also use CityMaps2Go but a Google search turned up this information from greekguide.com regarding the tourist information center in Chania. This is the link to that specific page.

I'm pretty sure you can pick a map up at the bus station, but you can manage without, it's really easy; you just need to get down to the harbour then it's pretty easy to wander from there. From the bus station, come out onto the main road, turn right for 100m, turn left & cross over, walk though the square, then across the main road onto Halidon St which is pedestrianized & leads to the harbour (Leather Lane partway down on the right). This is where pretty much everyone will be heading! OR instead of going down Halidon, turn right for 200m & you will be at the 'covered' or 'cross' market. there's a booth there giving out maps.
Have a great day
The tourist office in Rethymnon may well have a map of Chanua.
Thank you everyone
