My wife and I have 4-6 days in Chios on our way to Lesvos. Would appreciate advice from someone who has traveled there. We want to visit Nea Moni, then spend three nights in Pyrgi as a base to visit mastic villages and a beach. Maybe Avgonyma area too? We are both artists so landscape (and food!) are a focus.

Chios is one of my top three favorite Greek Islands.
I stayed in Chios Old Town in Frourio Apartments and it was perfect.
I was there a number of years ago and was happy to find one of the last large Greek Islands still not hyped up like other large islands.
It's been a while since then so hopefully nothing has changed.
