I am flying from NJ to Athens in May. At 1:35 pm I am gonna land and gonna have flight to Santorini. What time is the best flight for me to have enough time for check in? I am not sure about my English, so thanks anyway
2 hours is enough time to get off the plane from NJ. collect your bags, go through Passport Control and Customs, then go upstairs to check in for your flight and find the departure gate for Santorini.
Is your flight from NJ nonstop to Athens, or do you have a connection in western Europe? If the latter, you double the risk of a delayed flight and so need more leeway to make the flight to Santorini. I'd suggest something departing late afternoon.
I have connection in Vienna. Thank you, guys, I have something to think about.
Actually, since you're going to enter the Schengen Zone in Austria, that's where you'll be processed through Passport Control and Customs. You won't need to do anything in Athens except collect your bags and check in for your flight to Santorini There will be no need for Customs or Passport Control there. That makes it a lot faster and easier for you.
We have connected through Vienna a few times. The flights have always been on time so no real worries there. Since you have already cleared customs in Vienna you will need an hour and a half to 2 hours to make your Santorini flight. Sign up for Aegean Airlines web site and they will send you e mails announcing seat sales. You can get a very good price if you grab one of those discount seats..Seat sales start coming out in January normally.
Thank you, Lee and Stan, that's a good info.
