Unfortunately I only have 5 days in Greece with my husband and 15 year old daughter in June. It will be the last part of a 2 and a half month trip of 7 countries in and around Europe. We fly into Athens on the 8th at 1:35pm I thought I would do June 8 to 10 in Athens and then the 10 to 13 in Santorini. I imagine by the end of this long trip our desire to see ruins and cathedrals will be spent and we will just want to rest in the sun. My main reason for going to Greece was to visit Santorini so should I skip Athens and just do Santorini and maybe add Mykonos instead of Athens We do not drink or party so I was not sure about Mykonos. Lastly, are there any cheaper ways to get from Santorini to Istanbul. The cheapest flight I have found is $158 a person on Aegean Air. I would flying Istanbul on the 13 and then fly out of Istanbul back to the States on the 14.th Thanks in advance for any advice.
$158 from Santorini to Istanbul IS cheap, and anything else will take way too much of your time. Skip Mykonos this time and stick to Athens and Santorini. And if, as you say, you will have had your fill of the 'sights' by then, just skip Athens altogether and fly straight out to Santorini and relax. There's plenty to see and do there for 5 days.
