Traveling to Kos in Sept. Does anybody have any tips for finding the cheapest airfare? Has anyone found cheap flights to another country and then flown directly to Kos instead of going into Athens from the states and then on to Kos? Thank you.
AMS-- LGW--STN--FRA--MAN--ZRU--BRU----STR--BRN all have service to KGS, if you want to avoid ATH
I'd start with Google Flights or a comparable website, entering my home airport as the origin and Kos as the destination. I believe that will produce the best through-ticket options. Those will protect you if your transatlantic flight is delayed.
It's possible that you'll find a cheaper alternative that combines separate tickets, but remember that in that case, you are assumung the risk of having to buy a last-minute replacement ticket if your transatlantic flight is delayed, rescheduled or canceled.
Try Expedia or Google Flights. If you find the itinerary and price that looks good, book it directly with the airline.
If you are flying from the states your best option is a flight to Athens then book with Aegean or another Greek Airline that flys to Kos. That may be your cheapest way out. A direct flight from where ever you are in the US to Kos will be very expensive and possibly very long lay overs. Depending on the airlines you choose more than likely you may have a layover in Athens anyways.
There are numerous websites for finding flights . . . if you find something go directly to the airlines website rather than book with a third-party. You will get better customer service and more reliability.
