We'll be staying in Stalos,just outside of Chania, in May. Our villa is very close to a k-tel bus stop. What are your experiences for day-trips via public bus from the area? Thanks for any feedback. Would love to hear about Stalos specific restaurant/pub recommendations as well.

It’s a while ago but we stayed in Platanias, a bit further out than Stalos I think. We used the KTEL bus quite a bit to get in and out without problem. We travel by bus a lot in Greece and the service is almost always reliable. On the odd occasion it hasn’t been it’s been because of really exceptional circumstances: a massive storm, for example, or a landslide on a mountain road. Neither are likely to be a problem around Chania!
