Hello travel friends,
Anyone have any experience with bringing carry on and personal items on these two carriers. We are flying on Air Canada with a carry on and personal item on May 13 (Halifax to Athens)then switching to one of these two airlines for Athens to Paros (return).
Their website lists a carry on and personal item (described as a purse or thin laptop bag that fits under the seat). My personal item would be considered a large purse size. We don’t want to check bags but will if we must. Any advice? Thanks!
Traveled last May on Agean from Athens to Santorini and Mykonos to Athens. Each time they weighed all the luggage at the gate (only the roller boards). There were many people in line who met the size limits, but not the weight. Note, they did not weigh my personal item which was the Rick Steves Euro Flight Bag which is probably larger than your purse.
Flights to the islands (Paros, Naxos, Milos) with Aegean/Olympic are operated on ATR42 or 72 turboprops with limited space.
The maximum size and weight allowances must be respected. In Economy, regardless of the fare: Light, Flex or ComfortFlex, the carry-on bag cannot exceed 55cm x 40cm x 23cm and 8kg.
If you want to avoid any additional cost when boarding because of your luggage book a ComfortFlex ticket which allows you to have 1 checked baggage up to 23kg.
For Paros in May it is only 8€ more. If you have to do it at boarding it will cost 40€
Thank you! We will book the ComfortFlex class to maximize our flexibility. Safe travels!
