Apologies, it may be my poor choice of search terms, but I cannot locate the post on two good taxi services from Athens airport to hotel near Plaka. It would have been in the last six months. Help? Cost?
Alternatively, we are a party of two or maybe three from airport, is it better just to grab a cab? And does Uber work in Athens?

I used Welcome Pickups in 2019…..very easy to book and very pleasant ride to Hotel in the Plaka. I cannot remember the price.
You can take a regular taxi, the price is fixed at 38€ for the city center. (€54 between midnight and 5:00 a.m.).
or use Welcome Pickups (about 10% more expensive than regular taxis), with welcomepickups
the driver will be waiting for you at the exit after the baggage claim area carrying a sign with your name.
There is no Uber in Greece they ended up as martyrs, coated in bird feathers then immersed in barrels of moussaka :)
If your hotel is located near a metro station (Syntagma or Monastiraki) you can also take the metro from the airport.
I used Welcome Pickups twice in the past three weeks. Airport to Hotel and Hotel to Airport. Both were taxi drivers who also work with Welcome Pickups. Both drivers were on time--including a 6:30 AM pickup and spoke fluent English.
Welcome pickups lets you know who the driver will be an their vehicle. They also give you a contact number for the driver.

I booked my pickup for 30 minutes after arrival. The driver monitors the flight and you get an hour at no charge if the flight is late.
My flight was early and there was only a couple of people ahead of me at immigration. I was waiting for my driver who arrived at about the time of my flight's original arrival time. He knew my flight was early but didn't expect me to get through immigration that fast. It wasn't a problem.
He had a bottle of water waiting for me in his car, let me know the car had wifi if I wanted to use it , and pointed out the sights as we drove to my hotel.

We have used them for several transfers & tours in our stay in Greece.
