Does anyone know of a car hire service that goes from the Athens airport to a hotel by the Acropolis?
I've used one from Heathrow to London a few times and it's worked out really well. There will be 4 of us arriving from the West Coast at about 6:30 pm. Is it better just to take a taxi? Thanks for your input!
I used the metro system to get to our hotel in that area. Had no issues.
But if you want a shuttle service, here is one I found on the Forum that had positive comments

We took a taxi. There is a flat rate (35€?)to downtown Athens, easy. With four people you will need a larger vehicle.
The taxis are all Mercedes sedans. Unless all 4 of you are over 6 foot and Big, you should fit into 1 taxi; b=put the biggest guy up in the front seat. The folks in back seat may have to hold the shoulder bags/computer bags in their laps but 4 of the 20 or 21" rollaboard bags should fit in the luggage compartment. Most car services, if I am not mistaken, use the same Mercedes model ... not a jump-seat limo as in USA. THe daytime taxi flat rate now is €38 ... including all tolls & tax. No need to tip, but if he helps with bags, a couple of E are certainly called for.
Thanks so much for all your advice. I love this forum!
I used Welcome Pickups. Very pleasant driver. I enjoyed the experience.
I guess it all depends on whether you want to pay €20 over the flat rate, in order to have a guy standing near the exit with a cardboard sign with your name on it.
