We are thinking of renting a car while on Mykonos next June. I see differing article regarding the need for an International Drivers License. Some say yes it's required others say no. Does anyone have first-hand experience?
Any recommendations or warnings regarding car rental on this island?
You may never need. If you do, and you have it, no problem. If you need it and don't have it, you may very well have big problems. It was only $20-25 bucks last time we got one. Small price for piece of mind.

just to be on the safe side, I would obtain one at AAA.com it’s about $25, 2 passport photos, good for one year, receive same day. each driver needs one
may not be greece itself, could be car rental company that asks. some friends didn’t have one and were refused rental. best to have “bird in hand” then stress and ugly feelings. my own opinion
enjoy Mykonos, one of my favorite islands on our greek island cruise. roamed around the beautiful alleyways, was nice to see so clean, houses with colorful bougainvilleas, residents on porches sweeping and saying hello or waving, the windmills and beaches. sat at outside cafe oceanfront having appetizers with Mykonos beer before boarding ship.
