S/o of Thermopylae thread: has anyone been to the site of the former ‘Xerxes’ Canal’, at the northern end of the Mt. Athos peninsula? I imagine there’s very little there, as at Thermopylae, but is there at least signage and enough to spark the imagination? That would be enough for me. Perhaps remnants are only on Google Earth, if that.... thanks in advance.
