Business class flights

Use frequent flyer miles, pay for it or have elite status with the airline to get an upgrade.

Using a 3rd party "discounter" is done with peril.

I know of no other options. Others might.

I find with American Airlines that the frequent flyer miles required may vary by a factor of three, depending on the date. I have flown business once, booked and was covided out of a other, and have another for next year. Each time required fiddling with dates and sometimes clearing cookies to get the best deal.

If you have significant lead time, watch for sales, look at all possible routings near your destination, look at all possible airlines.

I was lucky. I used miles on AA to get RT business class this October. BA going over, AA coming back. When I was about to book, I got an offer that for 10,000 miles more I could upgrade on the return flight to First Class.

No brainer.

Here is one tip.......New York to London is the busiest and most competitive route across the Atlantic. The more competition, the more flights, the lower the price. Consider including that routing in your plans.

Also, play with dates. Some dates in the same week may be cheaper than others.

Upgrades are very hard to get these days unless you have status with the airline or the alliance. Additionally, it seems people have been booking business class in the past few weeks at a higher rate than expected.
