Thank you. Do you know approximately how long is each of these journeys?

From Delphi to Athens: approximately 3 hours

From Athens to Nafplio: approximately 2 hours

Add the transfer time between the two Athens bus stations ( 20 minutes by taxi or bus 420)

Plus an undetermined connection time in Athens, which will depend on the bus arrival and departure schedule..
Leaving Delphi around 11:00 a.m., you could arrive in Nafplio between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

google shows driving time, for a car, at 3.5 to 4 hours.

If you have to change buses in Athens, my guess, is you likely will spend 5-6 hrs on the trek. Looks like riding the bus will be your primary activity that day.

Ron, it always helps in getting the best advice, if you can share as many specifics as possible about your visit to Greece. how many days total? (not including departure day, and only including Arrival day if you arrive before noon). Are you doing chiefly mainland or attempting islands also? Also if coming from US./Canada is it the shorter trip (East coast nonstop = 11-12 hrs), or the weary 18-22hr trek from West Coast?

Why ask? To help you work out most-efficient transport & have more time on-site, enjooying. Because (depending on answers), you might do more efficient transit by doing 1 trip at beginning the other at the end, & only staying in Athens once. Example (if shorter journey) -- you could go from Airport to Delphi bus, snooze on the 3.5 hr ride, see Delphi museum @ 5-6, early dinner & bed, then do ruins in AM before huge tour bus invasion... bus back to ATH for whatever else planned. Then toward end of trip, bus to Nafplio (2+ hours) spend a couple of days, and on return, transfer at Lionas (bus stop at Athens edge) to direct MEetro to Airport.

Of course, if you plan a Greece stay of 2 weeks or more, you dont need to be so efficient ... but on any trip, it's always good if you can do just one stay in Central Athens -- the ride in/out, the 2x hotel checkin/out wastes precious hours.
