...book ferries now or later?

Hi,
We will be travelling from Crete to Ios, Ios to Naxos and Naxos to Mykonos during the month of June.
Should we book now in advance or purchase our tickets the day of our travel?
We would appreciate any and all input regarding our travel on the ferry system in the Greek Isles.

These are the most popular islands with the most options for ferry travel. You can simply book as you go. I don't wait until I'm at the port just before departure, however. I find a travel office wherever I am that sells ferry tickets and buy a day or two in advance, just to be certain. This also allows me to avoid any last-minute crowds at the port ticket agency.
