Boat rental for Cyclades island hopping

My 34 year old son is joining my husband and me for a week of your Greece trip. We are basing ourselves in Naxos for the week and hoping to island hop. He wants to hire a boat and driver for three days to drive us around and between the islands so that we don’t spend half of each day waiting for ferries. Is that even possible? If so, does anyone have any contact information? Thank you!

Private boats are much slower than ferries. A fast ferry travels at a speed of up to 50 knots (55 mph), and the average small private boat sails 10 times slower. So if your goal is to save time, this is definitely not the right choice. You won't spend half a day going from one island to another, but the entire day.

Furthermore, even if chartering a private boat with a skipper (and not a driver) is still possible, you'll have to pay the price. I think that once you'll know this price, you'll return to the good old ferry without regret.
Chartering a private boat with a skipper for the entire week generally includes overnight stays in cabins and costs at least €3,000 per week in low season and around €8,000/week in August for the cheapest.
