Boat/Ferry through the Corinth Canal

Hi All,
I didn't see this particular question addressed in the forum already (sorry if I missed it!) My husband and I will be traveling to Greece in April 2020 for the first time. We have about 1 1/2 days between the mainland portion and the island portion of our itinerary. My husband desperately wants to travel through the Corinth Canal either on a tour boat or just a ferry. The only thing I've found in my internet searches is that we can just 'walk along the canal' and tour guides will be waiting to take us...
So, is that how it works - like Amsterdam - where guides are waiting to take you for a ride? If there are not actual tour boats are there ferries? Thanks in advance
-Jennie

I don't know if there's a regular ferry going from one end to the other. The bridge itself is pretty cool because it goes down under the water to let large boats through instead of being raised. I thought that was interesting to watch and it would be fun to be on a boat when it goes down but I'm not sure the smaller tour boats actually trigger it to go down. This is one company that does boat tours. I have no personal experience so check reviews if interested.

While I sympathize with the desire to do something fun, the Corinth canal is not high on my list. The water is very narrow - if it is 50 ft, I'd be shocked. Even small boats are tight. In addition, it is short - perhaps 1 KM. We observed it from the bus, and I was not overwhelmed with a desire to transit this very small waterway.

I have cruised on Windstar, so I ran across this (full cruise itinerary) which may fit the letter of your inquiry. Of course, it may be too much time or money for your actual needs:

I am not affiliated with Windstar except as a customer. I don't know how long it will be available online, but I strongly believe that this current ADVERTISING photo of theirs is the Corinth Canal:

The reason I'm posting just the photo link is that the full page ("The $250 Million Star Plus Initiative") link is very long, looks suspicious to people who don't know me, and may well link to my personal advertising identity with Windstar!

Thank you for your responses :). We have looked at Windstar Cruises in general, this particular trip to Greece is a land tour however. I'll make sure my husband sees the link and he may very well start planning a second trip just to go through the canal on a boat! We may have to be happy with viewing the canal from the top, rather than the canyon from the water this time. Thank you again!
