best way to get from Piraeus to Monastiraki square

Hi, my family and I will arrive in Athens from the cruise ship at the beginning of September. Just wonder if we should take Uber to Monastiraki where our hotel is or we can take the public train or metro to the Monastiraki area. Any recommendation? Thanks

The cruise terminals of the port of Piraeus are located quite far from the metro, it's 15 to 30 minutes walk depending on the cruise terminal (A, B or C)

There is a bus, the "X80" which operates from May to October and connects the cruise terminals to Syntagma Square, but you will then need to take the metro or bus from Syntagma to Monastiraki Square. Same for the local bus line 40 which only goes to Syntagma

The easiest way is to go to Monastiraki Square by taxi.

Non-professional drivers without a taxi license are prohibited in Greece, so if you take an Uber taxi, it will be an official taxi (yellow car) using the Uber application.

We just took a taxi with almost the same route but opposite direction. Taxi was super easy and not too expensive

I would book a private service like Welcome Pickups to take you from your cruise ship to your hotel., especially if you have luggage. Our Greek tour guides told us that the taxi drivers even rip them off, (and they're Greek) so it's just not just the tourists who get taken.
We've taken the X80 bus to Syntagma square, but I wouldn't want to take that hauling luggage.
