Best Time to Buy Flights from Athens to Santorini

Hi Folks! Hoping you may have some insight on the best time to book flights. We are most likely going to go Olympic based on the flight times, but the flights prices have stayed pretty steady over the past few months. Now that we are getting around the 3 month mark till we would fly, I am wondering if the flights at this point will just go up, or if there will be a period when they will go down and we are better off waiting till that point. For reference we are looking at flying out of Athens around 5pm on October 3rd and flying out of Santorini on October 7th around 6am. Any advice on the best time to buy tickets for the flight would be much appreciated.

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

For such a short flight prices are unlikely to change; I'd go ahead and book now and relax knowing my flights were set.

Best time to buy your flights is when Aegean (owns Olympic) has a seat sale. We sign up to their web site and they send out seat sale notices. So I booked my flight Athens to Crete in November 2016 for September 2017. Santorini was also on sale at that time. Got a great price.

I seriously doubt that you are going to find seat sales this late for the 2017 season. As flights start to fill up prices just go up. Buy now.

Right now prices are sky high, especially for "Flex" tickets which are you best options if you have luggage and carry-on bags.

Prices can jump up or down daily so I would wait and see if you can get a better prices.

That's especially high for October. I would check daily on prices with Aegean/Olympic and see if prices come down.

Or . . . go to another island at a much lower cost. There are numerous Greeks Islands that offer more tradition, great vistas, lower prices, traditional villages/Greek atmosphere without the Over-the-Top-Touristy Santorini.

October is off-season so you can get much better deals, lower prices, still nice weather, less tourists if you do your research on what other islands are worth a stay.

There are much better options for a truly Greek Experience if you seek out other areas other than the Big Name Islands.
