We don't need a car in Athens but will be picking one up on our last day and driving towards Erimoni. Trying to avoid a lot of Athens driving, so any location suggestions for pick up would be appreciated.

Drop off may make a difference, for example if you want to use one of the majors, the airport is a snap to get to.

If you are leaving from central Athens Almost all car rental companies have an office on Leof. Andrea Siggrou avenue which is the main avenue near the Acropolis museum. Here (search for "car rental" from this location):

Then, with a car, heading south on Siggrou Avenue, you won't have to deal with most of the traffic in Athens.
You could also rent a car at the airport but since the airport is located 1 hour from Athens center and in the opposite direction that you want to go, it will take you about 2 hours more to get to Ermioni

I am confused--are you heading to the ferry or driving overland the long route? I was assuming the latter, but I see JoLui thought you meant to the ferry, so it could be interpreted either way.

According to a previous message, the OP is looking for a parking in Ermioni to leave the car before taking a ferry.
So I guess they wants to drive from Athens to Ermioni
