Looking for any recommendations for a day cruise from Santorini. Also, we are debating between Santorini Secret and Pezoules for our hotel. We will be in Santorini for 7 days starting May 9th for our honeymoon. Would love to know if anyone has had any experience with either hotel. Both have great reviews on Trip Advisor. We arrive on the evening of the 9th and depart mid-afternoon on the 16th. Given the length of our trip, we are considering renting a car for part of the time, though we also hope to walk many places. Any advice on car rentals would be appreciated. For example, do we need to book in advance or can we just play it by ear once we get there. Finally, knowing that Santorini beaches are different from the Caribbean experience, is there any that we should definitely check out?

We rented a car for one day in Santorini and we just went into town, found a car rental place and got a car. You can rent a motorcycle, too, if that's your cup of tea.

There are plenty of car rental agencies. You don't have to reserve in advance in May. I usually recommend Vazeos in Oia, Tony's in Firostefani and Spiridakos in Fira. Spiridakos also has an office at the ferry port.
Be sure to go to your local AAA office to pick up an International Driving Permit, no test or membership required. Bring 2 passport photos with you to save a few dollars.
