Following on from the thread about 3 days in Athens... what are some recommended day trips from Athens? We won't be driving so it would mean either hiring a driver or going on a tour (small tour, in a van perhaps. No coach tours).
Was thinking perhaps Delphi but its a bit far.

Lots of first-time visitors like to take the daytrip to Sounion Bay to watch the sunset and see the Temple of Poseidon. http://www.athensguide.com/sounion/
Cap sounion is a great idea
Epidaurus theather is 2 hours away and is an amazing historic place. Around there you can also go to Nafplio.
Delphi is also a must if you can. 2 hours also
If you have just three days then I would stay in Athens and explore the city. That would be the minimum number of days to fully experience and get a feel for the city.
World-Class Archeological sites & museums, Central Markets, Psiri District, shops, markets, tavernas, Monistoraki & Syntagma Squares, Anafiotika and lots more.
