Hi, we're heading to Greece in three weeks! The end of our trip is five nights early July on Naxos near Old Town and Agios Gorgios. Does anyone have experience with beach chair rentals? Tips and/or recommendations? Favorite places for renting? There is a site for reserving but it's very expensive. I know that prices have increased over previous years but can we wing it and rent the day of?

The smartest tip I could give is to avoid organized beaches with paid sunbeds and umbrellas and find a beach with tamarisk trees that don't charge for the shade they provide (in Naxos it's very easy to find).
A bath towel and 4 stones to block it are as effective and just as pleasant as a plastic sunbed made in china charged 25 euros for 4 hours

Most of the hotels and bars at St George beach have loungers and umbrellas to rent. We do not spend sufficient time at the beach to bother with renting.
Just go to the beach in the morning select your spot and pay for it. You can spend the whole day there. Just leave towels or books on the lounger when you want to slip away for some time. If you take away all your stuff they will rent it to the next customer.
