I am going with a friend on a yoga excursion to Greece to the island of amorgos. We are going on August. I have never been and very excited. It looks like we can fly to Athens or santorini. I would love to see another island while I am
There or spend a night or two in Athens. I know amorgos is pretty far out. Have any of you been any day trips we can do from there? Any and all advice welcomed.
I combined Amorgos with Asytpalea. I flew to Astypalea from Athens and then took a ferry to Amorgos which was relatively a short distance away.
Astypalea is a laid back island and doesn't get the tourism of Santorini. It has one of the most beautiful Choras I've seen in Greece.

I didn't do any day trips to other islands from Amorgos because there was too much to do there. Both Amorgos & Astypalea are wonderful Greek Islands. You should find plenty to do on both without day trips to other islands.

Amorgos is also connected via daily ferries with the nearby island of Naxos. You could fly into Athens, fly or ferry to Naxos, and ferry to Amorgos. You may need to spend a night in Athens and/or Naxos, depending on plane & ferry connections.
Naxos would be a great place to spend a couple of days either before or after your yoga excursion. But August is high season, so you should solidify your plans and make flight & hotel reservations soon.
