We do not want to rent a car, so we are wondering if there is a dependable train between Athens and Thessaloniki. Any details (cost, time of day, number of trains/day) would be welcome! Thank you!

Yes, that is pretty much the only dependable train route in Greece. I would expect it to take about 5 hours and $55 per person in 2nd class. If the web site isn't easy to use, then plan to buy tickets at a travel agency in Greece.

We are going the same route. We decided to fly. Cheap airfare, less time than the train.
