What is the best way to get to Piraeus from the Athens airport and approximately how long will it take?
From outside Door 5 on the Arrivals level there's a direct Airport Express x96 bus (€5) to Piraeus that takes about 75 minutes as long as you don't get caught in a traffic jam. It leaves the airport every 20-30 minutes, 24/7/365. The other alternative is the Blue Line Metro from the airport, departing about every 45 minutes into Central Athens (45 minutes, €8) to the Monastiraki Station where you would then catch the next Green Line train to Piraeus (20 minutes, €1?).
Terrific! Thanks so much!
Just to add a detail to Lee's reply. There are departure boards in the airport which will give you the time of the next metro or express bus.

Buy your Express Bus tickets from the ticket kiosk outside Door 5. Buy your Metro tickets from the ticket window in the Metro station. Be sure to validate your tickets in the ticket validation machines, either inside the bus or at the station before boarding the Metro train.
Thank you both for your help!
