This may have already been discussed in this forum, but to save me time from digging through topics....what air service is offered from Athens to Naxos in the Cyclades Islands? We will spend (1) day in Athens in mid-October, and want to fly to an island for another (3) days. I would like to check prices, times, etc., and not even sure where to start? Thanks.
Olympic Air and Aegean Airlines have merged, so now you can book to Naxos with either company. Flights are limited, so book ASAP.
Lee - if given a choice: Naxos or Santorini?
For me it's Santorini every time, but Naxos has a lot to offer as well. If you think you might not ever return to Greece then you really should see Santorini, so perhaps you can take a daytrip there by ferry from Naxos, assuming there's a ferry that will give you enoughe time to explore Santorini before you have to return to Naxos, although in October this might not be possible. You'll have to check locally to see what's available when you're there.
Actually, we are flying into Athens. We only have four full days, so we either spend it in the Athens area and day trip to Nafplio (or another island), or we take right off from Athens to Santorini. Our first time to Greece, and very possibly, our last.
