I'm looking to buy tickets on a Monday next month. Per Rick's suggestion, we'd do Athens Walk, Agora Walk, Acropolis on first day--ending at Acropolis. I'd rather not lock into multiple timed tix for a single day, before I've ever set foot in a city, removing all spontaneity and when it's difficult to judge timing. I can understand buying tix for the Acropolis itself, and I plan to do this maybe in the 17:00 or 18:00 slot (sunset at 19:54 and it's open til 20:00) at the end of the day. Do I need to indeed buy advance tickets for the Agora?
We may hit Acropolis Museum on this first day but certainly on the second day--is a ticket necessary for that in early April? Does it make sense to see the Acropolis Museum before or after the Acropolis visit?
Also, since our second and final day in the city is Tuesday, when the Cycladic, Benaki, and Byzantine are closed, I'm wondering if we should try to do one of these on Monday, though that would create for a pretty tight day. I would love others to weigh in. Slight preference for Benaki. Cycladic I know will be included in the NAM, which we will see on Tuesday afternoon, plus they've long-term loaned 160 pieces to the Met, so we can see more in the U.S.
Thanks for any thoughts.
