How have people enjoyed their free time on this tour?

Free time in Athens: visit the ancient agora and follow the RS audio tour, go to Syntagma Square to see the guards or the Benaki museum nearby, take the funicular up Lycabettus Hill for a great view of the city.
Kardamyli, spend the day at the beach, or visit the old town, and from there fallow the trail hike up to the top of the hill to the old church (takes about an hour and a half, and the trail is more of a goat path in parts). Great views on the way up.
Monemvasia: definitely hike all the up to the top of the rock, and follow the trails until you can look back on the town on the mainland. Explore the Warren of streets and shops in the old town at the bottom.
Nafplio, we got rained on so were unable to take the small train that does a tour circuit of the town. Some people did walk up to the hilltop fort, but most of us went shopping. I found a shop that sold all types of worry beads, and bought several for friends. If you have an interest in rocks and stones this is the place to get them
Hydra: some people went for long walks to a beach, others of us explored the town, I particularly enjoyed the house once the residence of a sea captain, and another that was the residence of an artist.
Do try to arrive a day or two early in Athens.
