I would like a local person to accompany me while shopping for some mid-priced linen dresses and mid-priced jewelry.
Any suggestions on how to find such a person? I don't want to go to the tourists shops that are selling € 39 dresses and Greek pendants for € 25.
How much are you willing to pay for their time?
Perhaps someone at your hotel/lodging could offer a suggestion of where to go for the kind of merchandise you seek.
Athens isn't all about tourist shops. It's a city of 4 million people.
Near Syntagma Square, you'll find a large department store, "Attika," here:

All the surrounding streets are full of clothing, jewelry, and shoe stores.
If that's not expensive enough for you and you're looking for designer clothes and jewelry, Louboutin shoes, and a new Rolex watch, head to Kifissia.

I could be a guide, but I'd take a 15% commission on your purchases... LOL
Thanks JoLui. No need to the designer threads!
