Athens Restaurants

I do not know if this is the correct forum to ask about Athens restaurants so apologize if it isn’t: staying in the Neos Kosmos neighborhood and would like recommendations for restaurants- not touristy, locale flare, reasonably priced, within walking distance to where I’m staying.

The Neo Kosmos neighborhood is mostly residential and office-based, with a few large international hotels on Siggrou Avenue. You won't find much interesting restaurants in this area. You should go to the Koukaki neighborhood, which is on the other side of Siggrou Avenue.

For example, on the pedestrian street Olimpiou, you'll find several less touristy restaurants of all kinds with a family atmosphere, as well as cafes, bars, and pastry shops. The street is very lively until late in the evening, there's no need to rush to dinner at 7 pm, as Greeks usually eat around 8:30 / 9 pm.

There are quite a few other options here and there in the surrounding streets. The further north you go (towards the Acropolis Museum), the more touristy it becomes. Since I don't know your exact location within Neo Kosmos, I can't give you any more suggestions.

As Jolui says Neos Kosmos is a fairly big area. His suggestion is good, or you might look the other side of the main road at Syngrou/ Fix station if you are nearer there.

Going less centrally I’d recommend the Tricycle (To Trikyklo) which is about ten minutes walk from Neos Kosmos metro station.
