Athens Multi Pass

When i was in Amsterdam they had a multi pass that included top museums (excluding Ann Frank museum) , transportation and some discounts.

Does Athens have something similar? If so what is the website and is it worth the cost? Does this pass let you book your museum tickets ahead of time?

I think the pass you are asking about is the multi site pass for the antiquities in central Athens. It includes several sites including the Acropolis, Hadrian's Library Ancient Agora, South Slope of Acropolis (2 theatres), Roman Agora, Temple of Zeus, & Kerameikos (cemetery & Museum). No transportation or additional museums are included. I believe the pass is good for three days. Skip the line is not part of the package.

I was not aware of that pass. The one I mentioned is about 30 euros per person but this one includes museums and transportation. Value really depends on how long you plan to be in Athens and how much time you want to devote to all the attractions plus those museums. If you base yourselves in the central area near the acropolis everything is in walking range so the transportation benefits might not be something you will utilize.

In the Greece guidebook, Rick talks about the €30 Acropolis combo-ticket, which covers the Acropolis and Theater of Dionysus, along with the Ancient Agora, Roman Forum, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Library of Hadrian, and Keramikos Cemetery. The combo-ticket is valid for five days, and since you can buy it at any participating sight, it allows you to skip the ticket-buying line at the Acropolis. Rick doesn't mention any sort of multi pass that also covers transportation. So while there may be other options out there, none made the cut for a recommendation in the guidebook.

It seems like a hefty and unnecessary expense. Like others have said, the Acropolis combo is €30. The only additional “advantage” this one offers is free public transport, thru the Hop on Hop off, which kind of limits you to its routes and timetables. The sites are all very reachable on foot; the bus would restrict you.
It seems a bit dubious, too, not only because the price seems inflated, but because it claims to allow you to skip the line ups (which weren’t that bad) to “the Acropolis and the Parthenon”. Well, once you get past the turnstiles at the Acropolis entrance, you’re “in”. There is no line up, per se, for the Parthenon. Makes me wonder.

I would pass on this one, and stick to the Acropolis combo.
