Athens itinerary

How much time do you need to spend in Athens with 2 kids (one is 3 years old). Can you do Acropolis and acropolis museum in 1 day?

Can someone share their itinerary in Athens to spend 3 to 5 days? What day trips to non historical sites would you suggest from Athens in late march or early april. Thank you.

You could spend 3-5 days if you have the time, just plan to blend in things that your kids like to do. We took our daughter to Paris when she was 5 and visited quite a few playgrounds! I think you could visit the Acropolis in the morning and then go to the museum afterwards but confirm the open / close times. Good luck!

You can easily spend 5 active days in Athens, even without visiting any archaeological sites.
See on the official Athens website:

It is possible to visit the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum in the same day.

If you want to avoid possible long queues at the ticket office the visit to the Acropolis must be planned in advance by reserving a date and a time slot and be at the entrance to the site 15 minutes before.

Tickets for the Acropolis Museum can be purchased here:

4 days is perfect if you can. There are many things for children in Athens including the botanical gardens, museum of illusions, cat cafe, Little Kook, taking the tram down to the coastal area of Athens etc. It will not be too hot at that time and not yet too busy.
