Athens in Early July

Hi all!
My family and I will be visiting Greece in late June and into early July. We finish our island hopping with a flight from Naxos to Athens on July 5th, landing at noon. We will then have a day and a half in the city before leaving at noon on the 7th. We are staying right next to the Acropolis Museum. I assume this question has probably been answered on here before but what is the preferred time to visit the Parthenon? We could do it in the evening on the 5th or morning of the 6th, which both seem to be the preferred time frames to visit. We were also planning on walking the agora, seeing the changing of the guard on Sunday, and visiting the National Archeological Museum, as well as seeing an orchestra perform at the Odeon. Any other suggestions for places to see/eat? I appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

By the time you get to your place of lodging, settle in then get acclimated with new surroundings you do not have a half day for sight-seeing on arrival day. Since you’re staying next door to the Acropolis Museum go there first and visit the Parthenon afterwards.
The next morning, go to Syntagma Square for the changing of the guard ceremony then stroll through the Ancient Agora. In the afternoon visit the National Archeological Museum.

Thanks Mary, this was what I was leaning towards in regards to the Parthenon and the Acropolis Museum instead of doing them in the morning in order to maximize time. I also saw that the sunset hour from atop the Acropolis is supposed to be magical. I appreciate it!
