I saw in a number of earlier posts that Athens Car Rental was a good firm to use. Well I tried to book for this summer, and they now insist that you must book for 5 days in "peak" season. So was wondering about other firms that fellow travelers would recommend. We are coming off a NCL cruise in mid July, and want to go hit Corinth and Olympia before we have to fly home. Thanks so much.

ACR being a victim of its success because it is often mentioned in the forum comments (not only the RS forums) I am not surprised that they limit the rental to at least 5 days. But you can also look for other car rental companies in Athens or Piraeus where your boat will arrive.
Search for example on Google Maps by centering on the port of Piraeus and specifying "Car Rental" in the search field.
Look at the reviews and do rental simulations on the companies’ websites.
The rate for a category A car should be around €60/day in July

On the mainland I usually rent with Capital Rent a Car. They only have Ford models (the family runs a Ford dealership), some automatic models available.
Never had any problems. The cars are recent and the prices reasonable. See if you can pick up your car at the cruise port (not to be confused with the ferry port)
