Is anyone aware of a pool for lap swimming in Athens Greece please? I have looked endlessly with mixed results including that the Greek government forces you to have a Greek doctor approve you first. Anyone know concrete information on this. Thanks very much in advance! Cheers,
https://www.places2swim.com/ enter your destination. green markers are open to public; red are not. use map view to locate close to your hotel, etc; or list view. click on entries for more details; I've included 3 samples, 2 representative of the requirements for municipal pools in Athen, and 1 private club:

Thanks. That’s really useful.
Thanks, but I am laughing (and crying since surely not worth one swim):
On your first visit you'll need to get an ID card, for which you should bring the following:
Two small photographs (one for the records, the other for your ID card);
A certificate from a cardiologist attesting to your ability to exercise;
A certificate from a dermatologist attesting that you don't have any communicable skin conditions;
A certificate from a gynecologist (applies to women only - we can't imagine why it's required - but it is);
A signed statement that the applicant can swim;
€30.00 for the membership fee (this is in addition to the daily admission fee).
